Previous retail experience and computer skills considered to be an asset.

    The successful candidate will have flexible availability, including days/evenings and weekends, and have the ability to work shifts 7 days a week.

    Buying Operations Intern - Part-time position

    BraTopia is looking for a great energy Buying Operations Intern to undertake the receiving, shipping, ecommerce, and merchandising duties at our store in Calgary. The role is part of BraTopia Inc. Buying department and will report to the assistant buyer.

    The ideal candidate will have a friendly, positive energy and easy-going personality while also being very perceptive and responsible. 

    Responsibilities

     Receiving

    • Assisting with receiving procedures and standards: Unpack, check merchandise quality, tag, and scan new products
    • You will carefully check the product for any manufacture issue
    • Fille all paperwork related with receiving and checking for special ordered products for customers
    • Identify and communicate to the assistant buyer of any discrepancy between purchase order and shipping list
    • Fill forms for any damage product

    Shipping

    • Review daily the platforms for unfulfilled online orders
    • Prepare online orders for pick up and shipping out orders
    • Courier relationship for external and internal shipping

    Ecommerce

    • Contact customers for updates or changes related with ecommerce orders
    • Update pictures and information description of our products in our websites

    Store Merchandising

    • Support with the product display in the store
    • Assisting with all in-store product placement and merchandising: rotating products on the walls by season and as new arrivals are delivered.
    • Go backs of markdowns and new arrivals
    • changing mannequins every two weeks or whenever there is new arrivals

    Requirements 

    • Availability to work from 12pm to 5pm from Monday to Friday
    • Ideally 1 year experience in retail or relevant position
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Familiar with office machines (e.g. computer, printer, etc.)
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel and Word)
    • Strong organizational skills, with an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. You thrive when you are busy, you are a master of juggling many priorities at once, and you manage your time wisely.
    • Problem-solving skills.
    • Team player with a very proactive and positive attitude. Collaboration and a sense of humor are a must in this role. We are a small team and rely on one another to succeed. Confidence to work independently and as a team go a long way in our crew.
    • Ideally familiar with Shopify. But not required.
    • Enrolled in college or university. Additional qualifications are beneficial.
